Portland, Battle Ground, & Lake Alder

Travel Dates: September 13-19, 2014

What a great week! I’m pretty sure I always say that, but I really mean it this time. 🙂

We finished up our time in Portland, Oregon with a visit to the Campfires & Candlelight event at Fort Vancouver, celebrating Rachel’s birthday, and a visit to OMSI.

After leaving Portland, we visited some family in Battle Ground, WA met up with new traveling friends in Morton and then settled near Lake Alder for some awesome R&R. Laying in the hammock has never felt so good!

  • Mica Hale Hauley - Oooo, you should TOTALLY hit the Olympic National Park!! There are some gorgeous beaches out there, and the drive up to Hurricane Ridge is pretty amazing, with spectacular views from the Visitor Center at the top! Forks is a bit of a Twilight special, but it is totally worth a visit for the fun of it 🙂 The beaches nearby are very worth it, tide pools and all! We did the top 9 things on this trip advisor link below in just a weekend, and it was amazing! Have fun!

I do remember taking a ferry to Canada’s Victoria Island from near here before with my choir, and that was cool too, saw Killer whales, a shark and all just on the ferry ride! They have some cool gardens there, but I don’t remember much else as for that Island, but I’m sure google does. 🙂ReplyCancel
