About Us

Welcome!

Hi there! We are the Curren Family. We traveled full time in our Airstream from 2013-2017 and now split our time between our small condo in Teton Valley, ID and the road.

As avid, outdoor, travel and adventure enthusiasts we are here to provide tips, advice, and inspiration to help you develop healthier and stronger family relationships.

We’ve talked quite a bit about compound words during school. How you take two words and smash them together to make a new word. “Star” and “fish” become “starfish”. Cara has even caught on, although sometimes she makes up her own. After spending an early evening in the French Quarter, New Orleans eating Beignets (ben-ya)…

Airstream Kitchen: S’more Fudge

**The recipe is from Real Mom Kitchen, one of my favorite recipe sites. I love yummy things to eat around the holidays, and I’ve never made fudge, so I thought it’d be the perfect experiment in our little Airstream Kitchen. Are we capable of making holiday goodness? Watch the video to find out! There you have it….

Kentucky Derby Museum & Churchill Downs with Kids

How We Travel Without Being Independently Wealthy

Many of the folks who hear our story assume that we are somehow financially set, that we have the money to traipse about the country living off savings or other residual income not tied to daily involvement. You might be surprised to discover that our finances are likely not very different from yours. We are…

With out realizing it that post was a great tribute to you and other working dads. This has been on my mind a lot the last several months. YOU are working to provide this life style to your family – while Jess is out doing the bike rides, museums, and library’s with the kids, you are working. Don’t get me wrong – I am a stay at home mom – it is work, but it is also NOT work. Not a lot of men are willing to work more so there wives can stay home – it is a great gift you give your wife and kids. Thank you.ReplyCancel

Thanks Jamie! Yes, what you said is totally true. I’m so grateful for all he does for us!ReplyCancel

  • This wasn’t even on my radar before . . . but just maybe. We would love to do something like this. Someday, or soon!ReplyCancel

So Sam,you mentioned your headphones but failed to share what you considered to be a really nice set. I’m currently looking into getting another set myself as my current ones hurt after barely an hour. your experience using headphones that are comfortable for hours would be interesting to hear. maybe another blog post when time permits…or a response here?ReplyCancel

Longer answer later, but short answer now: I have the AKG Pro Audio K271 MKII headphones. Closed back, with HUGE earpieces. The large earpieces sit entirely around my ear, not pressing them into my head at all. I can wear these for hours in a stretch with no discomfort. These are not noise cancelling, but the closed back (and some music) handle quite a bit of noise.ReplyCancel

Editing Photos on Your Phone with Snapsneed

I’ve often heard that the best camera is the one you have with you. I don’t know about you, but I pretty much always have my phone with me. Whether I’m out on a walk with the kids, at a beach, or just hanging out in the Airstream its usually in my pocket or close…
