My husband and I just returned from a short overnight up at Crosby-Manitou and we had a similar experience overall, including the struggle with finding/identifying the campsite. I’m glad your family didn’t have to deal with the overnight thunderstorm and soaked campsite that we had, however, even though the promise of a dry car & clothes was just a few miles away.

this story made me smile! we just got back from three nights at campsite 10 of George h Crosby monitou park. we had trouble finding our spot as well! we never saw a bear box/pole. the ranger even said it would be there! regardless, it was beautiful and rugged, quite the adventure.
