I went to college in Houghton for a short time after HS. Going back up after Thanksgiving that year that year we got 24′ of snow in 20 hours and school close for the 2nd time in 100 years. We got stranded in Ishpeming because the lake had covered the highway. I remember a car encrusted in ice and looking like a Natural History Museum display. We got the last hotel room in town and had 5-6 guys crammed in there just waiting it out.
Time to become trolls (get down under the bridge…;)
Lol! That sounds epic. We did see the “snow meter” along the road up to Copper Harbor. My kids about died – “Let’s move HERE!” they said. No. Way.

I just read your complete post; I wish I had seen you folks coming, earlier. I’m a national park ranger at Pictured Rocks Nat’l Lakeshore and a new airstreamer! The park is inundated with visitors this year, but still a beautiful place to visit – I’m glad you were able to see some of the key places in the park (as your pictures indicate).
