Utah

Jess was born and raised in Utah, so you think that would give us a leg up on this state. Turns out most people rarely explore their own backyards. Since we still visit family at least once a year, we’ve had ample opportunity to rectify the situation.

Each of these adventures deserves its own blog post, but since that will never happen (who has time for that?!?) I thought we’d give a quick run down of where we went and how we spent our time. If I have blogged about it, I’ll link to the specific post that will have more details.

Salt Lake City Area

City of Salt Lake

Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum

Tubing at Gorgoza Park, Park City: Tow rope takes you & your tube up the hill and then you just get the fun of sliding back down. Works much better when its not actually snowing. blog post, website, google maps.

Thanksgiving Point Museum of Natural Curiosity

Thanksgiving Point Christmas Celebration

Bonneville Salt Flats & Speedway

Timpanogos Cave National Monument, American Fork: We lived within 30 minutes for 4 years and never went. Totally had to fix that. Killer hike up to the caves, but the tour was great and the canyon is beautiful. blog post, nps.gov, google maps

Utah’s Hogle Zoo

Payson Lakes

Southern Utah

Cedar Breaks National Monument

Zion National Park

Astronomy Festival at Bryce Canyon National Park

Snow Canyon State Park, St. George

Yuba Lake, Fremont Indian & Sand Hollow State Parks: We visited these parks on our two week blitz to Southern Utah and back in the midst of selling our houses. Yuba & Sand Hollow are ideal for boaters, Fremont Indian SP was a gem.  blog post

Eastern Utah

The City of Moab

Arches National Park

Sand Flats Recreation Area

SlickRock Mountain Biking Trail

Bar M Trails

Goblin Valley State Park
